Tooth Replacement in Trenton

A missing tooth does more than change your smile. The teeth on either side begin to drift toward the gap, the opposing tooth can over-erupt, and the bone that once supported the root slowly resorbs. That's why we talk with our Trenton patients about replacement options early — often at the same visit where an extraction is planned — so the decision is made with full information instead of under pressure months later.
Tooth replacement is the general term for restoring one tooth, several teeth, or a full arch using a dental implant, a bridge, or a denture. Each approach solves a different problem. A single implant replaces the root and the crown independently, without involving neighboring teeth. A bridge anchors a replacement tooth to the teeth on either side, which can be a sensible choice when those teeth already need crowns. Complete and partial dentures restore many teeth at once, and implant-supported dentures combine the two ideas, using implants to hold a denture firmly in place.
Our office sits at 22500 Allen Rd. in Woodhaven, a short drive for Trenton residents, and we handle the full sequence here — consultation, extraction or bone grafting if needed, implant placement, and the final restoration. Because we are a multi-doctor practice with general dentists, a board-certified orthodontist, and a board-certified oral and maxillofacial pathologist on the team, Trenton patients aren't bounced between offices for the surgical and restorative halves of the same treatment.
Most adults with a missing or failing tooth are candidates for some form of replacement, though not every option fits every mouth. Adequate bone volume matters most for implants, and when bone has already thinned, bone grafting can rebuild the site so an implant has something solid to anchor into. We also offer mini dental implants, which require less bone width and are frequently used to stabilize a lower denture that slips.
Gum health is the other deciding factor. Active gum disease needs to be treated first with scaling and root planing or other periodontal care, since healthy tissue is what holds a restoration long-term. Patients who are not ready for surgery, or who prefer not to have it, are still well served by partial dentures or a traditional bridge. We review all of this at a complimentary consultation, where we take X-rays, examine the site, and explain honestly what each path involves in time and cost.
How Treatment Unfolds, Step by Step
Treatment usually begins with removing anything that can't be saved. We perform simple and surgical extractions, including wisdom teeth, and offer nitrous oxide and IV sedation for patients who feel anxious about the procedure. If a graft is placed, healing time follows before the implant goes in. Once an implant integrates with the bone, we restore it with a crown; for bridges and dentures, we take impressions and fit the restoration directly.
Our on-site dental lab changes the experience considerably. Crowns, dentures, night guards and other appliances are made and adjusted in our building — including same-day dentures and same-day crowns, plus relines and repairs. For a Trenton patient, that often means an adjustment handled during the same appointment rather than a two-week wait for an outside lab.

Caring for Your New Teeth
Aftercare for implants is close to normal hygiene: brushing, flossing or using interdental cleaners around the implant, and keeping regular cleanings and exams. Our hygienists also provide periodontal maintenance for patients with a history of gum disease, which protects the investment. Bridges need careful cleaning underneath the connecting section, and we show you exactly how during your follow-up.
Dentures want nightly removal and cleaning, and they need periodic relines as the ridge changes shape. We handle relines and repairs in-house. If you grind your teeth, a night guard protects both your restoration and your natural teeth.
Insurance, Financing, and the Membership Plan
We accept all major PPO insurance plans and offer a complimentary benefits check so you know your coverage before treatment begins. We also welcome self-pay patients and accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
For larger cases, CareCredit financing is available. Trenton patients without insurance can join our in-house membership plan — $199 a year for adults, $99 for ages 17 and under — with no annual maximum, no deductibles, no waiting period, and no pre-authorizations. Exams, X-rays, two cleanings and two fluoride treatments are covered at 100%, with 20% to 50% off other treatment. Se habla español.
