Benefits of Dentures

Complete Or Partial

Complete dentures replace a full arch of missing teeth, while partials fill in gaps and clasp around your remaining natural teeth.

Our in-house lab lets us craft, adjust, reline and repair dentures right here, including same-day dentures.

Fit And Comfort

We take the time to shape your denture for a secure fit and a natural-looking smile you feel good about.

Implant Options Available

If you want added stability, we also offer implant-supported dentures to help keep your teeth in place.

Affordable Payment Choices

We accept most major PPO plans, self-pay, CareCredit financing and our in-house membership plan for patients without insurance.

Missing teeth change more than a smile. They change how you chew a sandwich, how clearly you pronounce certain sounds, and how your cheeks and lips are supported. Dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth and the surrounding gum tissue, and they remain one of the most practical, affordable ways to restore a full bite. At our Woodhaven office, we make and adjust dentures in our own on-site dental lab, which means fittings, relines and repairs happen here rather than being shipped away for days at a time.

A complete denture replaces all of the teeth in an arch — upper, lower, or both. It rests directly on the gums and is shaped to restore the natural contours of your face. Patients who come to us for complete dentures are often people who have lost teeth gradually over many years, or who are facing the removal of remaining teeth that can no longer be saved because of advanced decay or gum disease. For those patients, we can plan extractions and denture delivery together so there's a clear path from start to finish.

A partial denture is for patients who still have healthy natural teeth. It fills the gaps with replacement teeth attached to a base that clasps securely around the remaining teeth, keeping them from drifting into open spaces. Partials suit a wide range of situations: a few missing back molars that make chewing lopsided, a missing front tooth that affects speech and confidence, or a mouth where some teeth are strong and others simply aren't worth saving. Compared with a complete denture, a partial relies on your own teeth for stability, which many patients find helps them adapt more quickly. When you're deciding between the two, we'll look at the condition of your remaining teeth, your bite, your gum health and your long-term goals together rather than pushing you toward one option.

Good candidates are patients who want to restore chewing, speech and appearance without implant surgery, or who want a solution that can be completed in a predictable timeframe. Dentures also work well for patients who have been dealing with an old appliance that no longer fits. Gums and bone change shape over time, and a denture made years ago may rock, slip or rub. A reline reshapes the fitting surface to match your mouth as it is today, and that's something we handle in our own lab.

It's worth knowing that implants and dentures aren't an either/or choice. We also offer implant-supported dentures and mini dental implants for patients who want added stability, and we provide bone grafting when the supporting ridge needs rebuilding. If you're not sure which direction makes sense, a complimentary consultation is a low-pressure way to get real answers. Our five doctors include general dentists and a board-certified orthodontist, and our practice is led by Dr. Ghannam, who earned his DDS from the University of Michigan in 1985.

Living With Your Dentures

The first few weeks involve a learning curve. New dentures can feel bulky, saliva flow may increase, and tender spots are common as your tissues adjust. These are normal and usually resolved with small adjustments — which is exactly why having a lab on site matters. Start with softer foods cut into small pieces, chew evenly on both sides, and practice reading aloud if certain words feel awkward. Most people find speech and chewing become second nature with time and patience.

Daily care keeps dentures comfortable and long-lasting:

  • Remove and rinse your dentures after meals to clear trapped food
  • Brush them daily with a soft brush and a non-abrasive cleaner, not regular toothpaste
  • Clean your gums, tongue and any remaining natural teeth every day
  • Keep dentures moist overnight so they don't warp or dry out
  • Handle them over a folded towel or a sink of water to prevent breakage
  • Keep regular exams so we can check fit, tissue health and your oral cancer screening

Even with a complete denture, continued checkups matter. We monitor the health of your gums and jaw ridge, and our hygienist helps patients with partials keep the supporting teeth strong.

Cost, Insurance and Getting Started

We accept all major PPO insurance plans and self-pay patients, and we'll run a complimentary benefits check so you know what your plan covers before treatment begins. CareCredit financing is available for patients who prefer to spread payments out, and our in-house membership plan — $199 a year for adults, $99 for patients 17 and under — includes exams, X-rays, two cleanings and two fluoride treatments at 100%, with 20% to 50% off other treatment, no deductibles, waiting periods or annual maximum. We accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
