Serving Riverview

A cracked molar on a Sunday, a teenager ready for braces, a denture that suddenly doesn't fit right — these are the moments that send Riverview families looking for a dental office that can actually handle it all in one place. That's the kind of care we built our practice around. From our office at 22500 Allen Rd. in Woodhaven, we see Riverview patients of every age, from a child's first visit around age one to adults weighing dental implants or a full set of dentures. Having five doctors under one roof means fewer referrals out and fewer scheduling headaches for you.
Most of the questions we hear from Riverview residents come down to one thing: "Can you take care of this here, or will I be sent somewhere else?" In most cases, the answer is that we can handle it. Our team includes general dentists, a board-certified orthodontist, and a general dentist who is also a board-certified oral and maxillofacial pathologist. That range lets us move from a routine dental cleaning and exam to root canal therapy, crowns and bridges, gum disease treatment, or a surgical extraction without sending you across town to start over with a new team.
Preventive care remains the foundation. Cleanings with our hygienist, exams, X-rays, fluoride treatments, sealants for kids, oral cancer screenings, and periodontal maintenance including scaling and root planing all happen on a normal visit schedule. From there, care branches out based on what you need — composite bonding or porcelain veneers and teeth whitening on the cosmetic side, dental implants and implant-supported dentures for tooth replacement, wisdom teeth removal and bone or gum grafting on the surgical side, and night guards or sports guards for patients who grind or play contact sports. We also fit oral appliances for sleep apnea.
One of the things that sets our office apart for Riverview families is our in-house dental lab. Crowns, dentures, night guards and other appliances are made and adjusted right here, which means same-day dentures, same-day crowns, relines and repairs are possible rather than a multi-week wait on an outside lab. If a denture needs an adjustment, we can often take care of it while you wait instead of scheduling you back.
Comfort is the other piece we take seriously. Dental anxiety is real, and we'd rather work around it than talk you out of it. Our comfort menu includes blankets, warm towels, neck pillows, headphones, Netflix and refreshments. For patients who need more, we offer nitrous oxide sedation and IV sedation dentistry. Here's what Riverview patients can generally expect from us:
- Appointments for all ages, including children from age one through the teen years and kids with special healthcare needs
- Same-day emergency visits when something breaks, aches or comes loose
- Orthodontic options including traditional metal braces, Invisalign and clear aligners for both children and adults
- Acceptance of orthodontic transfer patients, plus retainers for patients who finished treatment elsewhere
- Oral surgery without needing a referral first
- Spanish-speaking service — se habla español
Why Riverview Families Keep Coming Back
Our practice is led by Dr. G. Ghannam, who earned his DDS from the University of Michigan in 1985, and includes Dr. Derek A. Pflum, Dr. Maria Kana, Dr. Sophia Elmuradi and Dr. Ila Sayed, our board-certified orthodontist. For a Riverview household, that often means a parent, a child in braces and a grandparent getting fitted for dentures can all be treated by the same team, at the same address.
Our mission is straightforward: improve our patients' lives through first-class dental care, with comfort as a top priority. In practice, that shows up in small ways — explaining what we see before we recommend anything, giving you real options when there's more than one path forward, and working at a pace you're comfortable with.
Insurance, Financing and Making Care Affordable
We accept all major PPO insurance plans and are glad to run a complimentary insurance benefits check so you know what's covered before treatment starts. We also welcome self-pay and cash patients, and accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard and American Express. CareCredit financing is available for patients who'd rather spread payments out.
For Riverview residents without dental insurance, our in-house membership plan is often the simplest answer: $199 a year for ages 18 and up, $99 a year for ages 17 and under. It covers exams, X-rays, two cleanings and two fluoride treatments a year at 100%, with 20% to 50% off other treatment. There's no annual maximum, no deductible, no waiting period and no pre-authorizations. We also offer new patient specials.
Getting Started
Call our office to schedule, and let us know if you're a new patient so we can allow time to review your history and answer questions. We offer a complimentary consultation, which is a good starting point if you're considering implants, dentures, braces or Invisalign and want to understand your options first.
If you're dealing with pain, swelling, a broken tooth or a lost crown, call right away and ask about a same-day emergency appointment. We keep room for urgent needs because dental problems rarely wait for a convenient day on the calendar.
