Orthodontics in Riverview

Crowded front teeth, a bite that doesn't quite meet, a gap that has bothered someone since grade school — these are the everyday reasons people start asking about braces or aligners. Orthodontic treatment is simply the steady, controlled movement of teeth into better positions, and it works at almost any age. For families in Riverview, MI, that means a child's first orthodontic look can happen during a routine checkup, while a parent sitting in the next chair can start clear aligners the same month. We see both all the time at our Woodhaven office at 22500 Allen Rd., a short trip for Riverview patients who would rather not drive far for appointments that repeat every few weeks.
Orthodontics (General) is the branch of dentistry focused on alignment — how teeth sit next to each other and how the upper and lower arches come together when you bite. Our practice offers general orthodontics with a board-certified orthodontist on staff, Dr. Ila Sayed, working alongside our general dentists. That combination matters for Riverview families, because the same office that handles cleanings, exams, sealants and fillings also handles the braces. Records, X-rays and treatment planning stay under one roof, and we file orthodontic insurance claims as a General Practitioner (GP).
We treat both children and adults. For kids, we follow growth and eruption patterns during regular visits so treatment begins when the timing is right. Teens are often the classic braces age. Adults come in for reasons that range from cosmetic to practical — teeth that have shifted over the years, crowding that makes flossing a chore, or wanting to straighten things before cosmetic work like veneers or whitening. We also accept orthodontic transfer patients, so if you began treatment elsewhere and moved to Riverview or simply want a closer office, we can take over your case. And if you finished treatment somewhere else and lost or broke your retainer, we provide retainers for patients treated elsewhere.
The first step is a complimentary consultation. We look at your teeth and bite, discuss what's bothering you, and explain which approaches fit. From there, most patients choose between traditional metal braces and clear aligners, including Invisalign.
Braces use brackets and wires to apply gentle, continuous pressure, with periodic adjustment visits. They handle a wide range of movements and don't rely on patient compliance to stay in place, which is often why they're a good fit for younger patients. Clear aligners are a series of removable trays worn most of the day and changed on a schedule. They come out for meals and brushing, and many adults prefer how discreet they are at work or in photos.

Aftercare and Keeping Your Results
Finishing active treatment is not the end of the story. Teeth have a natural tendency to drift, which is why retainers are part of every case. We'll go over how long to wear yours each day and what to do if it cracks, warps or goes missing. Our in-house dental lab makes and adjusts appliances on site, so repairs and replacements don't require waiting on an outside lab.
Good hygiene during treatment protects the result. Our dental hygienists work with braces and aligner patients on brushing and flossing around brackets and wires, and we keep you on a regular cleaning, exam and fluoride schedule throughout. If a bracket pops off or a wire pokes, we offer emergency dental appointments rather than leaving you uncomfortable until the next scheduled visit. For patients who grind at night, we also make night guards in our lab.
Insurance, Membership and Financing
We accept all major PPO insurance plans and offer a complimentary benefits check, so you'll know what your plan covers before you commit. We also welcome self-pay patients and accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
Without dental insurance, our in-house membership plan is $199 a year for adults and $99 a year for ages 17 and younger. It covers exams, X-rays, two cleanings and two fluoride treatments a year at 100%, with 20% to 50% off other treatment — no annual maximum, deductibles, waiting periods or pre-authorizations. CareCredit financing is available for spreading payments over time.
