Clear Aligners in Flat Rock

Clear Aligners in Flat Rock

A Flat Rock parent sits in our chair and says something we hear often: "I've thought about straightening my teeth since high school, but I can't picture myself in metal brackets at work." Or a high school student tells us the same thing before senior photos. Clear aligners were made for exactly these moments — a way to move teeth gradually using a series of smooth, removable trays instead of fixed brackets and wires. Our Flat Rock patients travel a short distance to our office at 22500 Allen Rd. in Woodhaven, where our board-certified orthodontist, Dr. Ila Sayed, works alongside our general dentists to plan and guide treatment from the first scan to the final retainer.

Clear aligners are custom-made trays worn over the teeth, typically swapped for the next tray in the series as teeth shift toward their planned positions. Because the trays are removable, you take them out to eat, brush and floss — which is one of the biggest practical differences compared with traditional braces. We offer Invisalign as well as other clear aligner treatment, and we also provide traditional metal braces when that approach suits the case better.

Candidacy depends on what's actually happening in your mouth. Crowding, spacing, and bite concerns all respond differently, and some situations are better served by braces. We treat both children and adults, so aligners come up in conversation with teenagers who want a less noticeable option, adults who never had orthodontic care, and patients whose teeth have shifted years after previous treatment. We also accept orthodontic transfer patients, so if you began treatment elsewhere and have moved or changed offices, we can talk through continuing your care here. For patients treated somewhere else who simply need a replacement retainer, we provide those as well.

Your first step is a complimentary consultation. We examine your teeth and bite, discuss what bothers you about your smile, and explain honestly whether clear aligners, braces, or another approach makes the most sense. There's no referral needed to be seen, and we're happy to review your options without any obligation to move forward.

If you choose aligners, we take records and your custom trays are made to your treatment plan. You'll wear each set as directed, removing them for meals and oral hygiene, then progress to the next set on schedule. Periodic check-in visits let us confirm teeth are tracking as planned and make adjustments. Because we're a multi-doctor family practice, your cleanings, exams and any fillings or other general dentistry can happen in the same office — a real convenience for Flat Rock families who would otherwise juggle appointments at two separate practices.

Aftercare and Keeping Your Results

Teeth have memory, and retention is the part of orthodontics that protects everything you invested. When active treatment ends, we provide retainers and explain exactly how and when to wear them. Our on-site lab means retainers can be made and adjusted here, and repairs or replacements don't require shipping your case out and waiting.

Good daily habits matter during and after treatment. We ask patients to clean trays as instructed, keep up with brushing and flossing, and stay current with professional cleanings — our hygienist sees patients of all ages. If you grind your teeth at night, we also make custom night guards in our lab, which can help protect your newly aligned smile.

Insurance, Financing and Comfort in Our Office

We accept all major PPO insurance plans and offer a complimentary benefits check so you know what your plan covers before treatment begins. We also welcome self-pay patients and accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard and American Express. CareCredit financing is available for patients who prefer to spread payments out.

For Flat Rock patients without dental insurance, our in-house membership plan is $199 a year for ages 18 and up and $99 a year for ages 17 and younger. It covers exams, X-rays, two cleanings and two fluoride treatments a year at 100%, plus 20% to 50% off other treatment, with no annual maximum, no deductibles, no waiting period and no pre-authorizations.

Comfort is a priority throughout. Our comfort menu includes blankets, warm towels, neck pillows, headphones, Netflix and refreshments. Se habla español.
