Clear Aligners in Woodhaven

Clear Aligners in Woodhaven

Straightening teeth no longer means committing to metal brackets for a year or more. Clear aligners are a series of thin, custom-made plastic trays that fit snugly over your teeth and move them a little at a time. You wear each set for a stretch of days or weeks, then switch to the next one in the series, and the gradual pressure guides teeth into better position. For our patients in Woodhaven, that usually means straightening a smile without changing how you look at work, at school, or in photos.

At our office on Allen Rd. in Woodhaven, clear aligner treatment is planned and overseen by our team of five doctors, including Dr. Ila Sayed, a board-certified orthodontist. That matters, because aligners are an orthodontic treatment, not just a product. Someone has to decide how far each tooth should move, in what order, and how the bite should come together at the end. Having an orthodontist on staff alongside general dentists means we can look at alignment, bite, gum health, and existing fillings or crowns in one place rather than sending you across town for separate opinions.

We treat both children and adults with aligners, and we also offer Invisalign and traditional metal braces, so the conversation starts with what suits your teeth and your life rather than with a single product. Teens juggling sports and instruments, parents who never got orthodontic care as kids, and adults whose teeth have shifted over the years all ask about aligners for different reasons. We also accept orthodontic transfer patients, so if you started treatment elsewhere and moved to the Woodhaven area, we can talk about continuing your care here.

Clear aligners work well for a wide range of common concerns: crowding, spacing, teeth that have drifted, and bites that need refinement. They are not right for every situation, and the honest answer sometimes is that braces will do the job better or faster. That is one reason we start with a complimentary consultation — you get a real evaluation and a clear recommendation before you commit to anything.

Good candidacy also depends on oral health and habits. Teeth need a healthy foundation, so active decay or gum disease is usually treated first; we handle cleanings, fillings, scaling and root planing, and gum disease treatment in the same office. And because aligners only move teeth while they are in your mouth, consistent wear is part of the deal. We talk through that honestly with teens and parents during the consultation.

What the Process Looks Like

Your first visit is a conversation and an exam. We look at your teeth and bite, discuss what bothers you about your smile, and take the records needed to plan movement. From there we map out a sequence of trays and review the expected length of treatment, which varies quite a bit depending on how much movement is needed.

Once your aligners arrive, we show you how to seat and remove them, how long to wear each set, and what to expect in the first few days. Mild pressure or tightness when you change trays is normal — that is the tooth movement you are paying for. You will come in periodically so we can confirm teeth are tracking as planned and make adjustments if they are not. Between visits, you keep brushing and flossing as usual and rinse your trays. Our hygienists keep your cleanings on schedule throughout treatment.

Retainers and Keeping Your Results

Teeth drift after orthodontic treatment unless they are held in place, so retainers are not optional extras — they are the last phase of care. We will fit you with retainers at the end of treatment and explain a wear schedule you can realistically follow. We also provide retainers for patients who were treated somewhere else and need a replacement, and our in-house dental lab lets us fabricate, adjust, and repair appliances right here instead of mailing them out.

Paying for Clear Aligners

We accept all major PPO insurance plans and will run a complimentary benefits check so you know what your plan covers before treatment begins. We also welcome self-pay patients and accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

For patients spreading the cost out, we offer CareCredit financing. If you do not have insurance, our in-house membership plan is $199 a year for adults and $99 a year for patients 17 and younger, with no deductibles, no waiting period, and no annual maximum — exams, X-rays, two cleanings, and two fluoride treatments covered at 100%, plus 20% to 50% off other treatment.
