Invisalign in Flat Rock

Straightening teeth no longer means committing to years of metal brackets. Invisalign uses a series of custom-made, removable clear aligners that shift teeth gradually into better alignment, and for many of our Flat Rock patients it has become the preferred way to close gaps, correct crowding, and fix a bite that has bothered them since childhood. Each set of aligners is made from smooth, clear plastic that fits snugly over your teeth, applying gentle pressure in planned stages. You wear them nearly all day, take them out to eat and brush, and move to the next set as your treatment plan directs.
Clear aligners appeal to adults who don't want brackets showing in work meetings or family photos, and to teenagers who want a less noticeable option than traditional braces. Because the aligners come out, you keep eating what you like and brushing and flossing normally — no working around wires. Our board-certified orthodontist, Dr. Ila Sayed, is part of our team, so Flat Rock patients considering Invisalign are evaluated by a specialist in tooth movement rather than being referred elsewhere.
Invisalign is not the right answer for every case, and we will tell you honestly if it isn't. Candidacy depends on how far teeth need to move, the health of your gums and supporting bone, and how consistently you can wear the aligners. Patients with untreated gum disease or decay are usually treated for those issues first. We also offer traditional metal braces, so if your case calls for them, you can still have your care handled here. We treat both children and adults, and we accept orthodontic transfer patients who started treatment somewhere else.
Treatment begins with a complimentary consultation. We examine your teeth and bite, take records, and talk through what you want to change — whether that's a crowded lower arch, a gap you've always disliked, or teeth that have shifted years after earlier orthodontic work. From there we map out a plan, explain the expected number of aligner stages, and review what it will cost before anything begins.
Once your aligners arrive, we show you how to seat and remove them and how to track your progress. Most patients wear each set for a set period, then switch to the next, with periodic checkups so we can confirm teeth are tracking as planned. Small tooth-colored attachments are sometimes bonded to teeth to help certain movements. Mild pressure or tightness for a day or two after switching aligners is normal and typically eases as your teeth adjust.
Here's what Flat Rock patients can generally expect from Invisalign care with us:
- A free consultation and a clear explanation of whether aligners or braces suit your case
- Aligners worn consistently each day and removed for meals, drinks other than water, and oral hygiene
- Periodic progress visits to confirm teeth are moving as planned
- Cleaning aligners daily and keeping up with regular exams and cleanings during treatment
- A retainer after active treatment to hold your new alignment
Aftercare and Keeping Your Results
Teeth naturally drift over time, which is why retainers matter as much as the aligners themselves. We provide retainers and will explain a wear schedule for maintaining your result. We also make retainers for patients who were treated elsewhere, so if you finished orthodontics years ago and lost or broke your retainer, that's something we can handle.
Our in-house dental lab supports this part of care directly. Appliances like retainers and night guards are made and adjusted on site, which means repairs and relines don't have to wait on an outside lab. If you grind your teeth, we can also discuss a night guard to protect your teeth and your finished alignment.
Convenient Care for Flat Rock Families
Our office is located at 22500 Allen Rd. in Woodhaven, and we regularly see patients from Flat Rock along with Trenton and Riverview. Because we're a multi-doctor family practice treating all ages, a Flat Rock family can schedule cleanings, a child's checkup, and an Invisalign progress visit with the same team. We also offer same-day emergency appointments, and se habla español.
Comfort is a priority throughout. Our comfort menu includes blankets, warm towels, neck pillows, headphones, Netflix and refreshments — small things that make longer visits easier.
Insurance, Financing and Payment Options
We accept all major PPO insurance plans and will run a complimentary benefits check so you know what your plan covers before you decide. We also welcome self-pay patients and accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
For patients spreading out payments, we offer CareCredit financing. If you don't have insurance, our in-house membership plan is $199 a year for ages 18 and up and $99 for ages 17 and under, with no annual maximum, no deductibles, no waiting period and no pre-authorizations. It covers exams, X-rays, two cleanings and two fluoride treatments at 100%, plus 20% to 50% off other treatment.
