Restorative Dentistry in Flat Rock

Restorative Dentistry in Flat Rock

A cracked molar from a popcorn kernel, an old silver filling that finally gives out, a missing tooth that's been making you chew on one side for years — these are the everyday reasons Flat Rock patients call us. Restorative dentistry is the part of dental care that repairs and replaces damaged or missing teeth so you can eat, speak, and smile without working around a problem. Our office at 22500 Allen Rd. in Woodhaven is a short drive for Flat Rock families, and with five doctors and an on-site dental lab, we can often handle repairs that other offices send out.

Restoration starts where prevention leaves off. When a tooth is decayed, fractured, worn down, or gone entirely, the goal is to rebuild its shape, strength, and function using materials that fit your bite and look natural. That might mean a composite filling for a small cavity, a crown to cap a tooth that's cracked or has had root canal therapy, a bridge to span a gap, or a dental implant to replace a tooth root and support a new crown.

For larger situations, we offer complete and partial dentures and implant-supported dentures, including mini dental implants. Because our lab is in the building, crowns, dentures, night guards and other appliances are made and adjusted here — including same-day dentures, same-day crowns, relines and repairs. For Flat Rock patients, that often means fewer trips back and forth and faster turnaround when something breaks.

Most adults become candidates at some point. You may be a good fit for restorative care if you have a tooth that hurts when you chew, a filling that has chipped or fallen out, sensitivity to cold, a tooth broken at the gumline, a denture that no longer fits, or one or more missing teeth. We see patients of all ages, so a teenager with a sports injury and a grandparent considering implant-supported dentures are both in the right place.

Some problems need a different starting point. Active gum disease is treated first with scaling and root planing or periodontal maintenance, since healthy gums and bone support any restoration. A deeply infected tooth may need root canal therapy before a crown, and a tooth that can't be saved may need a simple or surgical extraction, sometimes with bone grafting to prepare the site for an implant later. We offer those services here, so care doesn't get handed off mid-plan. Same-day emergency appointments are available when something breaks unexpectedly.

What the Process Looks Like

We begin with a complimentary consultation and a thorough exam, including X-rays and an oral cancer screening, so we understand the whole picture before recommending anything. We'll explain what's happening, what the options are, and what each one involves — then let you decide. Nothing gets started without a clear plan you agree to.

  • Exam and diagnosis — we identify every tooth that needs attention, not just the one that hurts
  • Treatment plan — options, sequence, and cost explained in plain language
  • Repair or replacement — fillings, crowns, bridges, implants, or dentures, with lab work handled on site
  • Comfort options — nitrous oxide sedation and IV sedation dentistry are available for anxious patients or longer visits
  • Follow-up and adjustments — fit checks, relines and repairs done in-house

Treatment length depends on what's involved. A filling is usually one visit. Crown and implant work takes longer, since healing time matters. Throughout, our comfort menu is available — blankets, warm towels, neck pillows, headphones, Netflix and refreshments. Se habla español.

Caring for Your Restorations

New fillings, crowns and bridges are cleaned like natural teeth: brushing twice daily, flossing, and keeping your regular cleanings and exams. Implants need the same attention, since the gum and bone around them must stay healthy. Dentures should be cleaned daily and brought in when the fit changes — our lab can reline or repair them rather than sending you elsewhere.

If you grind or clench, a custom night guard protects your work, and a sports guard protects it on the field. Regular checkups let us catch a small chip or a worn edge before it becomes a bigger repair.

Paying for Restorative Care in Flat Rock

We accept all major PPO insurance plans and offer a complimentary insurance benefits check so you know your coverage before treatment. We also welcome self-pay patients and accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard and American Express. CareCredit financing is available for larger treatment plans.

Without insurance, our in-house membership plan is $199 a year for adults and $99 for ages 17 and younger. It covers exams, X-rays, two cleanings and two fluoride treatments at 100%, with 20% to 50% off other treatment — no annual maximum, deductibles, waiting periods, or pre-authorizations. Call us to talk through what makes sense for you.
