Clear Aligners in Riverview

Clear Aligners in Riverview

A Riverview parent sits in our consultation room with a high schooler who wants straighter teeth but doesn't want metal brackets in senior photos. Beside them, a working adult asks whether it's too late to close the gap they've disliked since their twenties. Both questions have the same practical answer: clear aligners can often do the job quietly, and we can tell you in one visit whether they're the right tool for your case.

Clear aligners are a series of thin, transparent trays custom-made to fit over your teeth. Each tray is shaped slightly differently from the one before it, so wearing them in sequence moves teeth a small amount at a time until they reach the planned position. They're removable, which means you take them out to eat, brush and floss — a meaningful difference from fixed braces, where food and plaque have to be worked around brackets and wires.

We offer both clear aligners and Invisalign at our Woodhaven office at 22500 Allen Rd., a short trip for Riverview families and the same office many of them already visit for cleanings, fillings and children's checkups. Orthodontic care here is led by Dr. Ila Sayed, our board-certified orthodontist, working alongside our general dentists. That matters for Riverview patients because one practice can handle an exam, a cavity, a cleaning and your aligner checks without sending you across town between appointments.

Good candidates for aligners are usually people with crowding, spacing, or bite concerns that can be corrected through gradual, controlled tooth movement — and who are willing to wear the trays as directed, typically most of the day and night. Discipline is the real requirement. Aligners only work while they're in your mouth, so a patient who tends to leave them out will often do better with traditional braces, which we also provide.

We treat both children and adults, so aligner conversations in our office range from teenagers finishing growth to adults in their fifties and beyond. Healthy gums and teeth come first: if we find decay or gum disease during your exam, we address that before starting movement. We also welcome orthodontic transfer patients who began treatment elsewhere and have moved or changed practices, and we make retainers for patients who were treated somewhere else and need a replacement.

What Treatment Looks Like From Start To Finish

It begins with a complimentary consultation. We examine your teeth and bite, take the records needed to plan treatment, and talk honestly about whether aligners, braces, or something else fits your goals. If aligners make sense, we map out the sequence of movements and have your trays made.

From there, the rhythm is steady and predictable:

  • Wear each set of trays as instructed, removing them only to eat, drink anything other than water, and clean your teeth
  • Brush and floss before putting trays back in, since aligners hold whatever is on your teeth against them
  • Rinse and clean your trays daily so they stay clear and fresh
  • Come in for periodic progress checks so we can confirm teeth are tracking as planned
  • Keep up with regular cleanings and exams with our hygienist during treatment

When the final tray comes out, treatment isn't quite finished. Teeth drift over time, so retainers hold your result in place. Our on-site dental lab fabricates and adjusts appliances here rather than shipping everything out, which helps with timely repairs, relines and replacements if a retainer is lost or damaged down the road.

Paying For Aligners Without Guesswork

We accept all major PPO insurance plans and will run a complimentary benefits check so you know what your plan contributes before you commit. We also see self-pay patients and accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard and American Express.

For Riverview patients without dental insurance, our in-house membership plan is $199 a year for ages 18 and up and $99 a year for ages 17 and under. It covers exams, X-rays, two cleanings and two fluoride treatments a year at 100%, with 20% to 50% off other treatment — no annual maximum, no deductibles, no waiting period and no pre-authorizations. CareCredit financing is available as well for spreading treatment cost over time.

Care That Fits Around Riverview Life

Our team of five doctors treats all ages, from a child's first visit at age one through adult orthodontics, including children with special healthcare needs. Se habla español.

Comfort is part of how we work: blankets, warm towels, neck pillows, headphones, Netflix and refreshments are available during appointments. And because we also offer same-day emergency visits, a Riverview patient mid-aligner treatment who cracks a tooth or has a sudden problem has somewhere familiar to call.
