A tooth that cracked on a popcorn kernel, an old silver filling that finally gave out, a back molar that aches when you drink something cold, a gap you've been working around for years — these are the situations that bring most people to us for restorative care. The goal is always the same: get the tooth comfortable, get it working again, and make it look like it belongs in your smile. At our Woodhaven office on Allen Rd., we handle that repair work for patients of every age, from a child's first filling to a full set of dentures.
Restorative dentistry is the part of general dentistry that repairs and replaces damaged or missing teeth. It covers a wide range of treatment, and the right option depends on how much tooth structure is left and what's happening underneath. A small area of decay usually calls for a dental filling. A tooth that's cracked, worn down, or has lost a large portion of its structure often needs a crown to hold it together. When infection or damage reaches the nerve, root canal therapy — on front teeth, premolars, or molars — removes the problem and saves the tooth rather than losing it.
When a tooth can't be saved or is already gone, replacement is the next conversation. We offer dental implants, including mini implants, along with bridges, complete and partial dentures, and implant-supported dentures. Gum health is part of the picture too, which is why scaling and root planing, gum disease treatment, bone grafting, and gum grafting are often part of a restorative plan. Building on an unhealthy foundation doesn't hold up, so we address that first.
Most restorative treatment starts with an exam, X-rays, and an honest conversation about your options. We also offer a complimentary consultation, which is a good place to start if you're weighing something larger like implants or dentures and want to understand the choices before committing. We'll walk through what each approach involves, how long it takes, and what it costs.
A few things are worth knowing up front. Timing matters — a small cavity treated early is a filling, while the same tooth left alone may eventually need a crown or root canal. Comfort is addressed directly: we offer nitrous oxide sedation and IV sedation for patients who need it, and our comfort menu includes blankets, warm towels, neck pillows, headphones, Netflix, and refreshments. If you're dealing with pain or a broken tooth right now, we offer same-day emergency appointments rather than making you wait.
One practical advantage here is our on-site dental lab. Crowns, dentures, night guards, and other appliances are made and adjusted in our own building, which means same-day dentures, same-day crowns, and fast relines and repairs. Adjustments that often require sending a case out and waiting can frequently be handled while you're in the chair.
Aftercare and What Results Look Like
Recovery depends on the treatment. After a filling, most people return to normal right away, though numbness lasts a few hours. After a crown or root canal, mild tenderness for a few days is common, and we'll give you specific instructions for eating and brushing. Implants and grafting involve a healing period before the final restoration is placed, and we'll see you for follow-up visits along the way.
Keeping restorations in good shape comes down to the same habits that protect natural teeth: brushing, flossing, and regular cleanings and exams with our hygienist. If you grind your teeth, a custom night guard from our lab protects both your natural teeth and your dental work. For patients with a history of gum disease, periodontal maintenance visits help keep the foundation stable.

Paying for Treatment
We accept all major PPO insurance plans and will run a complimentary benefits check so you know your coverage before treatment begins. We also welcome self-pay patients and accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. CareCredit financing is available for larger treatment plans.
If you don't have insurance, our in-house membership plan is $199 a year for adults and $99 a year for ages 17 and under. It covers exams, X-rays, two cleanings, and two fluoride treatments a year at 100%, with 20% to 50% off other treatment — no annual maximum, no deductibles, no waiting period, and no pre-authorizations.
